Get the players attention
Name the skill (make sure to use a consistence name for the skill)
Break the skill into basic movements in a logical sequence
Explaining the importance and appropriate time to use the skill

D – Demonstrate the skill
Clear mental images and consistent words.
Break the skill into basic movements, shown in logical sequence then as one whole of skill.
Slow down the skill if possible several times – so that players may see each and every section of the skill clearly.
Demonstrate from both sides of the body. (left and right handed)
Demonstrate slowly the first time then put together all components of the skill together at normal speed.
E – Explain the skill
Why and when the skill is used (in what situations).
Breakdown the skill and point out its individual components to the players.
After players can perform each part of the skill in sequence, re-explain the skill.
Stick to one name for a particular skill and always use that name to avoid confusion, use key phrases to remind players of correct execution.
A – Attend to players practicing skill (30minutes)
Offer positive feedback and repeat key phrases, encourage a fun and competitive environment.
Use a `compliment sandwich' to offer effective feedback.
1. Point out what the player did correctly.
2. Let the player know what was incorrect in the performance and instruct him how to correct it.
3. Encourage the player by emphasizing what he did well.
